The Budget-Friendly Alternative to Fine Motor Skills Toys
This DIY scooper tong is made of recycled materials and readily available household materials! There are some fabulous store-bought products that can help kids strengthen fine motor skills (and I’ll share some top picks below!), but I absolutely love it when we can make our own! It’s a great way to test our children’s ability without making a huge investment. It’s also a great way to show our children that you can make something useful out of everyday objects!

Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1
Hot glue 2 craftsticks on each side of 1 clothespin, leaving some space for the fingers to squeeze the clothespin open.
Step 2
Hot glue 2 bottle caps on the inside of the craft sticks so that they close flush with each other.
Step 3
To play the color matching game, place dot stickers inside an egg carton. Make sure to sanitize your cardboard egg carton by heating it in the oven for 20 minutes at 170F.
Step 4
Use the DIY scooper tongs to scoop up pom poms and color match them into the egg carton.
Step 1
