Our No Cook Homemade Play Dough Recipe!
Before you can combine your colors to make a fun swirl, you’ll have to make some homemade play dough! Our no-cook homemade play dough recipe is super easy to make and doesn’t require any cooking beyond heating up the water in the microwave! You can make any color you’d like, and while we made all 6 colors of the rainbow, all you need is 2 colors to make a fun swirl pattern!

If you’ve ever made or watched someone make swirl cookies or cinnamon bread, the process of making swirl play dough is very similar! It is all about layering each color and then rolling them all up together to create a fun, vibrant pattern!

Play dough can last up to 6 months if sealed properly. We like to use clear plastic container jars with lids. These lids are small enough to fit in kits too!
Keep in mind that overtime, swirl play dough will lose some of it’s vibrancy when stored.

Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1
Make at least two colors of play dough.
Step 2
Roll out each of the layers using a rolling pin.
Step 3
Stack the layers on top of each other.
Step 4
Use the rolling pin to flatten all the layers together a little more.
Step 5
From bottom to top, roll the play dough into a roll to desired thickness.
Step 6
Trim the edges and then cut into individual portions and enjoy!
