Materials

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1

Put the stickers onto a piece of leftover cardboard. I actually used the cardboard from a book of watercolor paper that we finished using. The cardboard backing is so strong and sturdy!

Step 2

Have the kids play the color recognition game, and match the clothespins to the stickers. The smaller the clothespins, the trickier they are to use. If your kiddo gets tired, take a break and finish later!

The Importance of Recognizing Colors

Being able to recognize and communicate colors, is an essential part of language development in early childhood education!

While doing this color recognition activity, talk to your kids about the various colors, have them repeat the names of the colors, and then have them think about other items that are of the same colors. This is a way to expand the activity and make it a learning experience that they can build on and use in the future.
