What are Positional and Directional Words?

Positional and directional words describe where an object is located or positioned in relation to other things. For example: on, over, between, in front of, before, and after. They are also known as prepositions and they are typically learned when kids are in preschool and kindergarten.

The great thing about positional words is that they’re words that we use each and every day. So just using these words in conversation with your kiddo will get them on the right track!

Making a Positional Word Binder for Kindergarteners and Preschoolers!

We converted our worksheets into a reusable binder. In the video above, you can see how easy it is to make a resource like this that will last and can be used multiple times and with different children.

By laminating the sheets, they are not only more durable, but they become erasable when used with dry-erase markers. Additionally, using velcro stickers for the more hands-on activities allow all the pieces to stay inside the book so you won’t lose any parts!

All activities should be supervised by an adult. As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases. This post may contain affiliate links.
