How to Make Your Own Stained Glass Art
There are so many versions of stained glass art for kids out there. This one is great because it is created right inside a frame which is a great way to display the artwork! This is definitely kid-friendly because it doesn’t require working with actual glass.
Depending on the frame and how much glue your child uses (mine was quite liberal!), you may have glue fall out of the cracks of the frame. When this happens, I suggest having the artwork dry over wax paper. You could also balance the frame on top of 2 toilet paper tubes while it dries!
Another tip, if you want to add some sparkles to the stained glass art, you can use glitter paint too! We just used white glue and food coloring, but there are so many different things you can do with this simple activity.
Materials
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1
With the picture frame open, pour a thin layer of glue on top of the glass.
Step 2
Use water-based food coloring to scatter drops on top of the glue.
Step 3
Take a tool, like a toothpick, to spread the food coloring and create gorgeous art!
Step 4
Dry overnight, ideally on top of wax paper in case some glue drips from the sides.
Step 5
As soon as it dries, place the back of the frame on and enjoy a beautiful stain glass-like artwork that can stand on its own!
